begins with a 50-page historical background for game masters on the continent
of Ása and then continues with a highly detailed description of the Kingdom
of Slovania. No other volume is as
detailed as this one. Slovanian serves
a very special purpose in the Jörðgarð
campaign setting. It is intended first
and foremost as a base region for PC groups who are adventuring in other
parts of the Northwest. Slovania is a
relatively (and only relatively) safe
land where PCs can recuperate from adventures, obtain supplies, gain
information, etc. Only the border
regions have problems with orcs, undead and other monsters. Despite all of that, there is plenty of
ground for adventuring inside of the kingdom too when one begins to look into
the rampant corruption of Slovanian nobility or the evil secret society that
is growing there or the disguised devils in the important population centers
or hidden servants of the Darkness. The Northwest – Ása: The Ruins of the Fallen Æsir

AVAILABLE Most of the Fallen
Empire of the Æsir is a largely abandoned desolation of ruins occupied by the
nine evil dark draugs – the Jörð's most powerful undead – and their minions
as well as various bands of mutants (i.e. monsters). The potential for adventure on all experience
levels in this region is almost unlimited. The Northwest – The North Kingdom and the Dreadlands Open Source,

AVAILABLE This volume
describes two entirely different by neighboring realms in the remnants the
Fallen Empire of the Æsir The North
Kingdom was established in the Æsir ruins of the Sunset Hills by Slovanian
adventurers from Windland upon the southern continent of Blueland. However, after establishing the new
kingdom, the king and his nobles willingly became vampires to escape
death. The population of the kingdom
is trapped within its borders. Flight
into the mountains in the West leads only to orcs. Flight into the ruins of the Æsir Empire in
the East is nearly impossible. Barrow
and swamp draugs (undead) block the border.
However, as bad as life is in the North Kingdom, it is nowhere near as
bad as in the Dreadlands. This corner
of the old Æsir Empire was not touched by the Great Wars and is not in
ruin. The oppressive and utterly evil
dark draug Duke þráinn – the most powerful undead in the Western Hemisphere –
still rules here. His human population
lives under the worst of conditions, under the collective thumbs of þráinn's orcs
and other minions. For those who stand
up to the duke's evil, there always is room reserved in his dungeon, known as
the Depths of Darkness and Hopelessness. The Northwest

IN THE 1st QUARTER, 2014 Volume 4
differs considerably from the first three.
It includes the last two lands upon the Jorð
where elves still can be found upon the Dimension of Life. The remaining elven lands have moved to the
Middle Dimension, which is all but impossible for mortals to enter. However the Ganndar light elves still rule
in Karelenland, and Luohi, the Witch Queen of the dark elves, still rules
upon the Northland Isle. Neighboring
lands include not only the Fallen Æsir Empire, the Dreadlands and the North
Kingdom but also the Gold Coast, Auðarhome and western Orchome. The Gold Coast is a sparsely settled human
land troubled by the orcs in the Foggy Mountains. Auðarhome is the last vestige of the Auðar
stone giants in the Midworld Mountains.
Orchome is nothing more than a name to describe the areas of the Foggy
and Midworld Mountains where thousands of orcs lair without governmental
structures. This volume is the least detailed of the four. It is intended as a base where game masters
can develop their own material without fear of having it contradicted by
later official Jörðgarð
products. This volume is the first and
only Jörðgarð product that will
deal with these areas. The Open
